Klondike, MD - The Maryland Department of the Environment,
Bureau of Mines and the Georges Creek Watershed Association
hosted an ARRI Arbor Day Tree Planting Event on April 6, 2006 at
the TD Mining Forfeiture Reclamation Project, Permit SM-85-403
in the Koontz Run Watershed.

DuBois, PA - In celebration of Arbor Day, a tree-planting ceremony was held on April 28, 2006 at a reclaimed surface mine in Washington Township called the Smith Chestnut Farm. The site was an experimental chestnut grove where the American Chestnut Foundation is trying to reestablish native chestnut trees.

Arbor Day Celebration Focuses on Partnerships
Keokee, VA - Virginia representatives of the ARRI, the
Virginia Department of Forestry and the Powell River Project
co-sponsored an Arbor Day Celebration on April 7, 2006.
Events included tree-planting demonstrations, a discussion of
the forestry reclamation approach developed by ARRI and how to
remove existing cultural, technical and regulatory barriers.
